As a child I was completely enchanted when entering the paper shop. A place full of possibilities filled with all kinds of creative tools. Although my formal education later took a different path, away from art and into bio-technical studies and administrative work, the need to create never disappeared. Over time, I returned to creativity as a self-taught graphic designer, freelancer but I could never stay in any field of work for too long and was always drawn to change and diversity. I curiously explored many paths and before fully mastering any of them, I was drawn to a new path. Nothing was permanent, neither in my hobby nor in my job. What attracted me were “various inks” and trying many different things. 10 years ago I eventually moved to an island in search of a slower, more grounded rhythm of life. Here I completed a yoga teacher training course and a course for a tourist agency manager and started working in tourism. Living on the island allowed me to experiment freely and devote quiet winter times to handcrafts. Also renovating an old house on the island, working with my hands and body taught me the value of embodied creation. In a world dominated by success, ambition, constant thinking, and analysis, manual work creates a pause – a quiet inner space where the mind rests and something new can emerge. Through this way of life and working, I create without the pressure of defining myself through a single discipline, learning through experience and embracing creativity as an open, evolving process. For me, creativity is not about adding more, but about removing noise. It is a way of listening – to nature, to materials, to my own rhythm – and of returning again and again to that original sense of wonder I felt as a child, surrounded by possibilities.
