MAKRAME
We begin by meeting the essential knots and getting to know the character of different cords and yarns – learning how tension, rhythm, and a simple “magic knot” bring structure and flow to your work. Step by step, you’ll build confidence in the technique before creating your own small piece: a plant hanger, decorative wall accent, key chain, or another charming handmade object. Surrounded by the scent of the sea you’ll knot, unwind, and create at your own pace. All materials and accessories are provided just bring your curiosity. Within 3 hours, you will leave not only with a finished piece, but with new skill and a little spark of handmade magic to take home.
FELTING
In this gentle dry felting workshop, we slow down and work quietly with wool – one of nature’s most comforting materials. You will be introduced to the basics of needle felting and guided through shaping a hand-sized object, formed gradually through patient, rhythmic movement. We will explore the contrast between soft, vibrant merino wool and more rustic, raw fibers, learning how different textures and colours bring depth and character to your piece. Layer by layer, your form will emerge – organic, tactile, and uniquely your own. Dry felting is a focused and soothing process. It invites presence, steady hands, and a calm mind. Over the course of the session, you will create a finished object that carries both the warmth of wool and the quiet intention of your time spent making. All materials are provided. You simply arrive, settle in, and begin.
BATIK
Entering the field of wax, tjanting tools, and soft sponges. You will be introduced to the traditional wax-resist technique, learning how to draw with warm wax and allow patterns to slowly unfold on fabric. Using a tjanting tool filled with melted wax, we draw directly onto cotton cloth, letting the wax drip and flow in fine lines and quiet gestures. Once the wax dries, the fabric is painted or dyed, and the colour begins to reveal its depth. We continue layering- waxing and colouring – building the design step by step, watching the contrasts and details emerge. During the workshop, you will create a longer decorative cloth that can be displayed as a window hanging or it can be wrapped around a glass jar to hold a candle, allowing the luminance of the colours to glow warmly through the fabric like soft vitrage glass. The final piece is both artwork and atmosphere – a handmade object shaped by patience, rhythm, and light.
GLASS PAINTING
We explore the gentle art of decorating glass with colour and light. You will be introduced to the basics of painting on glass, learning how to create a clear bordure or outline first – the foundation that guides your design – and how to use a stencil if you prefer support in drawing your image. Beginning with an outline helps the colours stand out and gives confidence to those new to freehand work. Participants can choose from a selection of vases, bottles, or glasses in different sizes and shapes to paint. Using brushes and specially formulated glass paints, you will apply colour layer by layer, watching it catch and reflect light in vibrant ways. By the end of the session, you will have created a finished painted glass object – perfect to hang where sunlight filters through, or to display as a decorative piece that transforms everyday light into art. All materials are provided, and guidance is offered throughout, making the process enjoyable for both beginners and more experienced painters.
MOSAIC
In this mosaic workshop, we work with natural stones and colourful glass pebbles, arranging them into a unique, vibrant design. You will gently glue each piece and finish with grout, revealing a tactile artwork full of colour and texture. Participants will choose their own base object – a tray, plate, frame, or decorative panel and select stones and pebbles that inspire them. As the composition takes shape, the process will be meditative, playful, and fully absorbing, inviting presence and quiet focus. By the end of the session, you will leave with a finished mosaic piece – ready to display, gift, or simply enjoy as a keepsake of a calm and creative moment. All materials are provided, and the workshop is designed for enjoyment and creative expression, suitable for all.
SUN CATCHER MAKING
This is a dreamy delicate workshop where we are playing with colourful glass pieces, wires, rings, and pliers, arranging each element to play with light like tiny hanging diamonds. You will carefully attach the glass to create a sparkling composition that catches the sun and transforms it into rainbows. Participants can choose their own combination of shapes and colours. The finished piece can be hung in a window, in the kitchen or bedroom, or even used as a lucky charm in the car – bringing colour, joy, and playful light wherever it hangs. All materials are provided, and the workshop is designed for simple enjoyment, allowing you to create a luminous, magical keepsake in a calm and inspiring atmosphere.
